Coming Out Discussion Group meets Thursday to discuss "Coming out at school"

The Coming Out Discussion Group meets on the 3rd Thursday of each month at 6:30PM at the Pride Lafayette Community Center, 640 Main St., Lafayette. Our next meeting is this Thursday, October 21st.

This month's topic is "coming out at school".  It's a strange coincidence that this topic was scheduled back in April to be covered this month.  With the continuing coversation going on right now in our country around creating safe schools, what better time to focus on this topic.  This discussion is for everyone.  It's a place to share and receive advice on coming out.

For more information about the series and a list of upcoming topics, please see this April 13th blog post. The Coming Out Discussion Group is free and open to the public--and to people at all stages of the lifelong journey of coming out!

Whether you're able to attend or not, be sure to check out the Safe Schools Coalition for information about making schools a safer place for our youth.

Also, check out this 2009 New York Times article on "Coming Out in Middle School".
